Blog Post Invites Comments on the Evolution of Cohorts in the Study of Cancer and Other Diseases
NCI's Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP) continues to seek input through the Cancer Epidemiology Matters Blog from the research community to inform and shape discussions to be held during an EGRP-sponsored workshop on December 12-13, 2012 titled, "Trends in 21st Century Epidemiology: From Scientific Discoveries to Population Health Impact."
On August 27, EGRP posted new questions on its blog relevant to the use of cohorts in the study of cancer and other diseases. EGRP invites feedback on the following questions:
- What developments are needed to make epidemiologic cohorts a cornerstone of the discovery to practice continuum—bridging the transition from etiology to outcomes to policy and practice?
- How should NCI and NIH facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration to integrate these developments into the research portfolio?
