Archived Videocast Available for NCI Cohort Consortium
An NIH videocast is now available for the NCI Cohort Consortium Symposium, "When Bigger Is Better: Combining & Designing Cohorts for Power," held on October 25, 2012 at the NIH's Natcher Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland. View the Symposium agenda.
The Symposium highlighted accomplishments of the Cohort Consortium and experiences from multiple NIH Institutes in combining multiple cross-disciplinary and cross-Institute cohorts for power, described advantages and constraints of launching "mega" cohorts, and identified issues in building and managing a portfolio of new cohorts across Institutes.
The Symposium was sponsored by the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP) of the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences and the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics.
The Cohort Consortium represents an extramural-intramural partnership involving a collaborative network of investigators, collectively responsible for more than 40 high-quality cohorts with more than 4 million people. Learn more about the Cohort Consortium.
