The National Institutes of Health (NIH) issued the following Notice today:
Some institutions have closed operations due to the recent earthquake in Seattle. In addition, important services have been interrupted. The NIH realizes that this may cause problems for investigators who are planning on submitting grant applications for March 1. Applications that are submitted late because of the earthquake should include a cover letter noting the reasons for the delay. It is not necessary to get permission in advance for earthquake-related delays in grant application submission.
