Launched in September 2010, the Ontario Health Study (OHS) is a prospective longitudinal cohort study. The OHS is an integrated platform for investigating the complex interplay of environmental, lifestyle and genetic components that increase individual and community risk of common adult diseases. Recruitment and a baseline questionnaire have been conducted using online tools at https://ontariohealthstudy.ca
. To date, more than 230,000 adults have been recruited into the cohort. In addition to ongoing recruitment, the current focus for the OHS is on enrichment of the resource through data linkage to administrative health data, and through the collection of biospecimens and physical measures. The Study is a strategic project of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer.
