Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Programs (KP-MCP)


Description

The Division of Research within KP-MCP conducts, publishes, and disseminates high-quality epidemiologic and health services research to improve the health and medical care of Kaiser Permanente members and the society at large. KP-MCP serves more than 8 million members who make more than 30 million physician visits each year. Data is collected and available on a wide-range of research areas, including quality of care, cost-effectiveness, and health outcomes. More than 1,200 scientific papers have been generated from data collected and analyzed by the 400-plus staff of the Division of Research. There currently are more than 200 epidemiological and health services research projects in progress supported by federal, state, and other outside institutions, as well as by associated Kaiser Permanente family of businesses.
