Biography

Erin Dooley is a Cancer Research Training Award Fellow in EGRP’s Risk Factor Assessment Branch (RFAB). In this capacity, she works on projects related to accelerometer data, algorithm development, and the WHO physical activity guidelines.

Before joining EGRP, Dr. Dooley received her Ph.D. in Behavioral Science from the University of Texas Health Science Center, School of Public Health, in Austin. Her dissertation research focused on physical activity among preschool-aged youth, specifically assessing the dose-response relationship between physical activity and adiposity measures in a majority-minority cohort and assessing the parental and environmental correlates related to physical activity patterns. She is also interested in developing a focused line of research evaluating physical activity measures and working with wearable technology devices to optimize measurement of 24-hour activity cycles.
