Biography

Ms. Shruti Sinkar is a Cancer Research Training Award (CRTA) Fellow in the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program’s (EGRP) Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Branch (CTEB). In this role, she provides research support for several projects, including the Trans-NCI Cannabis Research Group, the Metastatic Cancer Survivorship Data Resources Research Group in the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS), and the Cancer-related Emergency and Urgent Care meeting. Her research interests include COVID-19 and cancer patient outcomes and biomarkers for cancer prevention, early detection, and recurrence.

Shruti will receive her Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in May 2022. She has worked as an Archer Fellow with the House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology and was a research assistant on projects related to understanding risk factors in pancreatic cancer and incorporating patient-reported outcomes into patient care. Shruti previously completed her B.S. in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
