Biography

Christie Kaefer, MBA, coordinates communications activities and projects for the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP). She develops and disseminates information about EGRP's scientific interests and funded research, grantsmanship, research resources, and events to the extramural research community. Ms. Kaefer is also a Contracting Officer’s Representative for a contract providing scientific and technical services for the Automated Self-Administered 24-hour (ASA24) Dietary Assessment Tool.

Ms. Kaefer is particularly interested in usability testing and leveraging web-based information to meet the needs of the broader research community, study participants, and the general public.

Ms. Kaefer first joined NCI in 2005 as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF). As a PMF, she worked on communications projects and materials for several NCI Divisions, Offices, and Centers and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion. Prior to joining HHS, Ms. Kaefer served for 8 years on Active Duty in the U.S. Army as a dietitian in a variety of clinical and management roles.
