Biography

Crystal Lane, MS, MPH, is the scientific program manager for the Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program (EGRP). In this role, she advises the associate and deputy directors on policy, operations, budget, and scientific activity planning. Ms. Lane also serves as a fellows program coordinator for the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences to implement recruitment and professional development activities in addition to the onboarding and mentoring of EGRP trainees.

Ms. Lane’s career at the National Cancer Institute began in 2014, as a Cancer Research Training Award fellow within EGRP where she supported the development and dissemination of tools and resources to promote collaboration among researchers such as the Cancer Epidemiology Descriptive Cohort Database.

Prior to rejoining EGRP in 2021, Ms. Lane was a project officer at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). During her tenure at HRSA, she managed a variety of grants for maternal and child health research, HIV/AIDS care and treatment services, and community-based organization capacity development. She has also coordinated grant recipient meetings and other engagement activities to facilitate partnership between researchers and community stakeholders.
